We are a very friendly organisation for those no longer in full time employment.
We are known as Fetcham U3A, although we have members from as far afield as Dorking, Epsom, Cobham and Effingham! There are about 500 hundred of us in Fetcham U3A, we have monthly meetings (fourth Tuesday of every month) in St Mary’s Church Hall, where we have refreshments, meet new and old friends and listen to an interesting (hopefully) talk. Join us and make new friends, sign up for several interest groups, go on outings and you will wonder how you ever found time to work!
We have over 75 interest groups which meet in halls, member’s homes or out of doors. There are groups with interests ranging from ukulele to croquet, from canasta to upwords, and a record number of eight groups for both ‘Explore London Walking’ and ‘Wine Appreciation’, the latter speaks volumes about us!
We would be really pleased to meet you. Come along to one of our Monthly Meetings to see if you would like to join. You will be very welcome. Committee Members wear badges, so seek one of us out!
Founded in 1982, u3a* is a UK-wide collection of locally run interest groups that provide a wide range of opportunities to come together to learn for fun. People enjoy exploring new ideas, skills, activities and social events together.
There are 1,039 u3as with over 430,000 members; membership costs on average less than £20/year and is open to everyone who is no longer in full-time work.
* originally called the University of the Third Age, now u3a.
