Monthly Meeting – Virtual Tour of Chichester

28 March, 2023 @ 14:30

The talk will be given by:- James Dickinson

“A Virtual Tour of the Cathedral City of Chichester”

Chichester in West Sussex is a fine City with a fascinating past. Roman, Saxon, Medieval and Georgian through to  modern times.

The tour embarks on a guided tour of each of its four parts starting from the Market Cross in each case.  You will be led through streets to see churches, other notable buildings, pubs and more and finishes with  the glorious Norman and Gothic Cathedral of the Holy Trinity.  The talk is fully illustrated with photographs and stories.  It is a great and relaxing way to discover Chichester.

James Dickinson is an amateur historian living in Herstmonceux in Sussex. He gives talks on medieval history, fully illustrated with photographs and other pictures.

His talks are full of colourful, entertaining and humorous material. History can and should be fun. There are no exams or tests so just sit back and enjoy, you will be thoroughly entertained. He has now spoken to nearly 100 groups. So, don’t miss out, give it a try and maybe learn a few things along the way.
