Mrs. Thatcher once commented, “If the Palace of Westminster is the Mother of All Parliaments, then Guildhall must be the Grandmother!”.

Guildhall, is the HQ of the City of London Corporation in the Square Mile and is the oldest, continuously elected municipal governing body in the world. The present building dates back to 1411, but it is believed there was an earlier Hall on the site in the  1100s.

Events which have taken place there include Dick Whittington welcoming Henry V back from victory at Agincourt, the treason trial of Lady Jane Grey, State Banquets for current Heads of State and much more!

Christine is the speaker, She is a London Blue Badge Guide and a City of London and Historic Royal Palaces guide and lecturer and gives guided walks and site visits on an amazing 36 subjects. The talk is fully illustrated.
